June 7 - Sandy, Marty and Tristan to Belize. A little change of plans due to weather problems.
Lizzie went ziplining !

June 10 - Big pain in my toe, gout? arthritis? it hurts!

June 11 - Follow up with Dr Shawel for Marvin. Everything looks good.

June 12- Lunch at Acapulco in Long Beach with Norbert.
To Jersey School to watch Kindergarten graduation rehearsal.

June 16 - Lizzie over for the weekend. Olive Garden.

June 17 - Father's Day

June 19 - Sandy and family back from Belize.

The blog helps me keep track of events in my life, and at the same time, helps me keep in touch with friends and family. I like it!

This and that

Glad to have Marvin home again after an overnight stay at the hospital. Very nice day, the weather is awesome, warm in the day and cooling at night. Perfect weather. Norbert came over and the 3 of us went for an early dinner at El Torito. It was Norbert's Saint Day. He entertained us with his new stories about going on vacation to Budapest in July, a definitive maybe. He changes his mind very often! I had 2 pineapple coconut Margaritas. Very potent. Today was the first day going to obedience school for Lulu. There were 8 dogs, all different sizes and breeds. What we were taught today: Bonding. We need to make eye contact with our dog and say "YES" and give them a treat. Repeat 10 times. Lulu was well behaved and friendly but was not too keen on the eye contact, she'd rather watch the other dogs. I am not sure we learned a lot ;) Looking forward to having Lizzie come over this weekend! And I wish Sandy, Marty and Tristan a great vacation in Belize. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Busy Sunday

We all woke up later than usual today. Normally Lulu wakes up and needs to go out and eat, but today she was a good girl and let us sleep.

I fixed a nice late breakfast, bacon, scrambled eggs and farmer's potatoes. It was very good.

It was a lovely California day, blue skies, warm but not extremely hot. The cactus was blooming, and all the flowers looked lovely. Marvin set up the sprinklers and we enjoyed the outdoors.

Marvin started the ribs on the oven, I made a key lime pie (yes finally), and also made some salsa, and side dishes.

Norbert came to help with a couple of things. One of the kitchen cabinets had some loose screws and we were afraid it would fall off. He tightened it up. He also cleaned the outdoor fountain, the birds love it! and helped clean up some of the boxes in the new shed. Only 10 boxes to go!!!! :)

We all had dinner, and it was very good. As usual Norbert ate twice as much as we did, and then ate some more! The ribs were succulent and very tender, the salsa was just right, the pie, well we all liked it but didn't love it. I think it would be better homemade (This one came from a box).

Lulu had a field day playing with Norbert, they were both super hyper. By the time he left, she was exhausted and went to sleep right away.

A very nice way to spend Sunday.

Blah day

Cactus flower

Nothing much happened today. Took Marv to dialysis, ( they have started giving the hemo through the vein in his arm) did some grocery shopping, ate McNuggets, and of course, the highlight of the day...I was gifted by a dead bird, courtesy of Lulu.

After picking Marvin up, I took a long nap and woke up a little off center. Marvin cooked his own dinner (picadillo with rice), I had a ham and cheese sandwich, and that's about it!!!  I hope your Saturday was more entertaining than mine :)

June 1, 2012

Hello,

I haven't been blogging too much, so I thought I will try to write a little everyday this month. I have read Sandy's blog, good job writing! and also Mia's. Strangely enough I have trouble putting in comments. But I have read them and enjoyed them :)
Today I went shopping, all I got was a puppy toy for Lulu! But it was nice to get ouyt of the house and walk around. I also had lunch at Camino Real taco place. I read good things about it. I had a humongous carnitas burrito, very good.
In the afternoon, Marvin did some gardening, moving the hoses and watering the lawn after the gardeners came. Is looking very nice. I had planted some flowers and is all looking good. I'm waiting for the tomatoes to grow and also the peppers!
The flowers in the cactus are just gorgeous, I counted today 10 of them open. Beautiful!
Lulu is calming down a little, she's actually kind of fun to have around. I am looking forward to obedience training on Wednesday (they canceled the first lesson because the teacher was sick)
It was so nice to have the girls home for a long Memorial weekend, we really enjoyed their stay. Love them muchiiiiiiiiiiiisimo!!!
And last but not least, I have to say how very proud I am of my grandson. He really did so well at school. He's really a nice, smart young man. Way to go Tristan!!!!! :)
