This and that

I have become lazy at writing this blog. Sandy has been very good at blogging and I love reading about her life, Lizzie when she writes she does a great job, but living together now I know what's going on with her, for the most part.

This Summer seems to be going by pretty fast, I have not done much at all. L goes out early  every morning and walks different trails, she's become quite a hiker and seems to enjoy it. Next week, she's going to take me to the Fullerton Arboretum which is something I will enjoy although I surely won't walk as much as she does, not even close :) We've also have gone to the beach a few times.

I have enjoyed doing the #Augustbreak challenge in Instagram. It's fun to come out with pictures that depict the word of the day. Sunday the word is "My Hands", my hands look old, with many wrinkles, oh well, I'll have to get creative :)

My friend N welcomed his nephew from Budapest. I haven't seen much of him because prior to that, he had been spending time with his sister in Las Vegas. I had met Agoston, his nephew, when he came to the US when he was 16 years old, he's now 37. He wants to have a good time on his vacation and plans to stay for at least 3 months.  It'll be good for N to have him around because he was becoming a bit of a hermit.

Because of my gallstones problems and my surgery, I became very aware of my age. Then I had my gout pain, followed by my bunion hurting as hell. All in all I didn't feel like doing much of anything, just trying to recover and get in better shape. Right now I'm thankful to say I'm doing pretty OK. It was great to having my daughters caring for me.

I had been planning to surprise my sister Mia for her birthday next month, but I decided to first find out if it was OK. It was a good thing because she's celebrating her birthday a couple of weeks earlier and had everything all set down (she rented a whole hotel  for a few of her family and friends). So because of this change, we decided probably June might be a better time. I would have gone this June but then it was when I was having my health problems.

I have met some of my teacher friends and gone to lunch with them, also went to Jersey while they are getting their rooms ready for the children. School in SFS begins August 21st.

L and I are getting along well. I enjoy having her around, Lulu is happy too. 2018 was the only year in my life that I lived by myself, and although I enjoyed being on my own, is nice to have her here. I feel safer and also is good to have someone to go to different restaurants etc. We also enjoy cooking together :)

Now I am very much looking forward to Sandy and Tristan's visit next month!!!!

July Recap

July was the first full month that Lizzie has lived in La Mirada. There's been some adjustments, but I think we are enjoying each other's company. I am happy and thankful she moved in :)

We have gone out to eat several times, El Torito Grill, Slapfish, La Huasteca, The Habit, El Cholo, Cabo Taco, Ola, Cha Cha, Amor y Tacos, Lizzie has cooked a few times too. I also went out to lunch twice with teacher friends.

We went for a couple walks with Lulu to Creek Park and La Mirada Regional. We also went to the beach (minus Lulu)

The 4th of July was a bit of a downer. I found out L doesn't like fireworks at all, most especially the noise.

Talk to Nuri for her birthday, she turned 78. I also thought of going to Sweden to see Mia in September, but  it probably won't be till June.

We had a 6.7 earthquake July 5th and a couple of others after that. A shaky experience.

I has an ERCP July 15. Thankfully all went well :).  I had bunion pain for a few days, is still sore. I've been limping.

I went to Orange to a poetry reading. Lizzie was the featured poet. It was very nice.

Talked to Sandy every week and texted with T. Haven't seen much of N, he's gone to Las Vegas for a while.

L did a lot of cleaning and organizing. She cleared all her boxes! Mine are still waiting . It's been too hot to do much of anything.
