Christmas 2021

I am sorry I haven't posted for so long. This December has been busy! But I wanted to write about Christmas.

It was just Lizzie, Lulu, and me, but we had a nice quiet time, rainy, opening gifts, having good food (first time I have not cooked for Christmas at home, because of my cataract surgery on the 21st.

On Christmas Eve, we kept the tradition to eat fettuccini, cooked by Lizzie, very yummy! On Christmas Day, we opened our gifts and were very happy with everything. Lulu liked her gifts too!

Thanks to Santa Sandy and Santa Lizzie for all the gifts!!!

She loves to read

Our Christmas dinner was salmon with rice and vegetables. It was good! We also had Cava. Only thing we missed was dessert!  Later at night we drove around to see the lights, very nice.
Our house

This one was very nice

How to go from Halloween to Christmas, made me laugh

Wishing everybody a nice and healthy 2022!!!

November Recap

Again, I didn't post much in November, even though there were several things happening. I think in the coming days I will expand on some of these stories.

November 4 - I got my Moderna booster, and I had a some after-effects. My arm got very red and swollen, I got tired easily, my joints ached, I was fatigued, didn't feel like eating much, I slept a lot, general malaise. I felt better by the 9th.

November 15 - Went to Kaiser to have my eyes measured for my upcoming cataract surgery. Started doing some walking in the Gazelle.

November 19 - Lizzie's 50th Birthday. We went to The Summit for dinner. At night, Sandy surprised Lizzie by showing up at 10:30PM  (I partnered with her to make it a surprise :)

November 21 - They went to a movie, and afterward the 3 of us went to Seal Beach for a beautiful sunset. Had dinner at El Ranchito.

November 22 - In'n'Out and take Sandy to the airport. We all had a lovely visit!

November 25 - Thanksgiving. Lizzie and I made a very nice paella, and had some embutidos appetizers first, and of course, Cava.

November 30 - To the dentist. Still too stressed out to write about it.

During the month we went to eat at several places: Amor y Tacos, The Habit, La casa del cocinero, The Summit, Reventacos, El Ranchito, In'n'Out, Raising Caner, etc.

October Recap

I'm somewhat surprised I didn't write at all in my blog in October. I think because the girls went on vacation to Costa Rica and I was by myself, I didn't do much of anything.

So I'll just write some things that happened in October. I started taking daily a 2500mcg B12 vitamin, since my doctor told I was low, not a lot of energy. We'll see how it goes. I've also started doing a little exercise, using my Gazelle for about 10-15 minutes almost daily. Also tomorrow I am getting my Moderna booster.

The main thing this month, was  the girls's vacation to Costa Rica. Sandy came from Utah October 7th and they left the next day. They had a great time!!! Lizzie wrote daily on her blog and put a lot of pictures, Sandy also wrote about the trip in FB and IG. I followed in Google Earth, almost like being there (not!) but it helped me to follow virtually.

While they were gone, I didn't do much of anything. The day after they got back, we went for a drink at The Cauldron and Sandy left the next day back to Utah. I cooked croquetas and macarrones so they gad some homemade food when they got back :) I love being with my daughters.

On October 18, Lulu had a birthday. She's a young 10 year old, and still can jump really high.

I went with Lizzie to Vallarta Supermercado and World's Market and got some Spanish food. It was fun for me.

And of course, October means Halloween. Lizzie's favorite holiday. She decorated the house and the porch and we had quite a few trick or treaters

A sad note: I didn't pass my Driver's License because I couldn't see the letters, especially with my right eye :(  I'll have to take it again after my cataract surgery.

September Recap

 Bye Summer, Hello Fall

It's true that the older one gets, the faster the days seem to fly by. Here we are in October already, just 3 months left to a new year. And it seems like 2021 had just started. But I digress. Here's my recap.

This month I talked to Sonya, Jennifer, Dewey and Mia, and of course Norbert often and Sandy on Fridays. It's all good.
Sept. 5  Norbert came over with steaks to grill, I basked some potatoes and made all I oli. He grills steaks for himself at least 2-3 times a week and seems proud of his grilling abilities. Unfortunately, this time, they got slightly crispy. But it was nice to have a meal the 3 together.

Sept. 8 I went to the optometrist to get new glasses. But he looked at my right eye and read what my ophthalmologist has written and they all recommended having cataract surgery, for sure in the right eye, but probably both.  Afterwards, we went to Porto's and La Huasteca.

Sept. 11  La Diada de Catalumya and 20th anniversary of 9/11

Sept. 12  T started Sober Living

Sept . 15 To Huntington Pier, watch the Sunset. Dinner at El Ranchito, had my favorite soup.

Sept 19. Lizzie to San Clemente, tomeet Lindsay

Sept. 23 Appointment with my ophthalmologist. Will make another appointment for pre-surgery. Probably for December 21st.

Sept. 29 Sandy had an MRI for her shoulder.

Sept. 30  Lizzie went to LM Theater to see Clue.

UTAH ADVENTURES: Till next time

We also visited the International Peace Gardens. Located in Jordan Park, offering floral architecture and displays representing other countries.
Spain was not represented, but Sweden was. This was part of the Swedish garden

This was the plaque for the contribution to the park from the Swedish people of Utah

I was scared of Sandy's big dogs, Mac and Harley, but after I met them, they were sweet like big teddy bears.

Harley didn't know she was a big dog and kept on trying to sit on my lap.

                                                                              So sweet!!!

                                                                               A funny photo!

Leaving Salt Lake

Arriving at Long Beach

Saying hi to Lulu. She looks so small. She was happy to see us.

It was a short but lovely trip. Thank you for everything Sandy. I love you, love your puppers too.
