Something funny,,,

The day before our anniversary, I asked Marvin if he had planned something, he turned to Tristan and asked him to tell me about it. Tristan looked at me and said because we had been married for so long and it takes a lot to be married this long, he would take us to dinner at The Olive Garden. I have to say I was surprised and touched :)

So the evening of our 45th Anniversary we all dressed up and left to the restaurant. As usual there was a waiting line, but after about 20 minutes we were seated. I asked Tristan if there was a limit on what to order, he waved his hand and said to have anything we wanted. He had spaghetti, Marvin had some Four Cheese Stuffed Pansotti with Chicken and I just had appetizers because I had had a big lunch that day. But I was wanting Zeppoli with chocolate sauce for dessert!!!

After we ate, the check came and Tristan took it and looked at it and waved 2 $20.00 bills and said he didn't have enough cash, then he took a credit card out of his wallet and with a flourish he put it with the check. I was again surprised, but I thought that this all must have been Sandy's idea of giving him one of those prepaid visa cards, to surprise us on our anniversary.

So now here comes the check back with the credit card, ready for signing. I asked Marvin, can he sign a card or is it one of those prepaid cards, he shrugged his shoulders and I took the credit card to find out what kind it was and....it was a Master Charge with the name Alonzo Wann!!!! they tricked me!!! they both were laughing that I fell for it.

The zeppoli were great!!!!

Family get together

On Sunday, we had a family get together at home, to celebrate my sister in law Mary's 68th birthday, and also our anniversary.
From Dixon came Mary and Dewey, from Burbank Bettie and Lee, their son David and his wife Iris and their son David Alexander, also their friend Gale. And from San Diego, our daughter Lizzie.
Mary and Bettie organized the whole thing, they brought appetizers, lunch, desserts etc. It was a nice get together.
David Alexander is 4 years old, he's very energetic and for a little guy, he's quite strong. He enjoyed playing with his big cousin Tristan and they were quite entertained with each other, playing outside and inside, unfortunately, David Alexander started getting quite rough and Tristan didn't like that.
Osi behaved like a lady, she was happy outside and just sat nicely when she was inside. Very well mannered :)
Of course, it wouldn't be a family gathering without the corresponding picture taking. I am posting my favorite. Bettie and Lee, with David and Iris, all smiles, and then there's David Alexander absolutely not happy to be in the picture.
I heard from Sandy from Palm Island, she and Marty are having a very nice time in paradise. I am sure she will have lots of stories and pictures to share :)

Valentine's Day Weekend

Even though my own Valentine was miles away, I had a very pleasant weekend.

Friday we had a Valentine's party in my class, it was fun, they exchanged cards and we ate a friendship mix (they all brought a baggie full of their favorite dry snack and then we mixed it all together. I also got a lot of gifts, flowers, chocolates etc. from my darling kiddies :)
Lizzie came over Friday night and we chose to stay at home and watch the opening of the Winter Olympic Games. We had croquetas and a ham and cheese sandwich. Saturday morning we went to Artika, a hair salon, to get our hair done. Lizzie had her hair trimmed and shaped, I thought it looked very nice (she posted a picture in Facebook), I had my hair colored a deep warm brown and cut and styled, I thought it looked pretty good. We both had a facial as our choice of "sensory
ritual" it was really relaxing and nice, my skin felt all tingly and fresh. Afterwards we went to Acapulco for a Margarita and yummy Mexican food. We really enjoyed our time together :)
In the minus side, my computer decided to stop working, all I was getting was the dreaded blue screen. I tried several times and it was always the same.:(Lizzie and I went to Best Buy to see if the Geek Squad would come to take a look, a very pleasant Asian young man told me that it probably was terminal because of the age of the computer (what was it 5 years?), Lizzie and I looked at several computers and I decided to wait until Marvin came back to buy one. I was upset because I like Windows XP and is a hassle to change to a new computer, plus the cost of it.
Lizzie left later and I turned off the computer and everything else that's hooked to it.
Just before I went to sleep I decided to turn it again and..SURPRISE! it just started as normal and has been working well ever since. YAY!
Today's Valentine's Day, I was surprised with a gorgeous bouquet from my sister Mia! She's such a thoughtful person. I am so happy she is a part of my life.
Tomorrow I have the day off and I will go to Huntington Beach for lunch with Norbert. I hope is a beautiful sunny day as it was today.
Marvin called me tonight and said he slipped and fell off the bathtub in Sandy's house, he was OK, but said he might have a big bruise in his rear end. He's supposed to leave tomorrow with Tristan and Osi to come back home. I told him to wait another day if he's feeling sore. We'll see. I'm glad he didn't get hurt. It'll be very nice to have Marvin,Tristan and Osi home :)

Sunshiny day

It was nice to wake up to bright sunshine! we have had a lot of rain lately, it was very much needed, but for the people that got mud slides! This morning it was cold, I had to scrape ice from my windshield but around 11 it was almost 70 , so nice and mellow.
I haven't been doing much of anything, just hanging around, working,m watching TV etc. Today I went to dinner to El Torito with Norbert we both had fajitas grandes and a giant Margarita and it was good. Tomorrow I will probably go have Thai with Jennifer, but she had a cold so maybe we won't. Friday night Lizzie will be coming over after work, and on Saturday we will go to the hair salon. I want my hair colored and cut, I think Lizzie just wants a trim. It should be fun.
I am glad Sandy and Marty are not leaving til the 19th, hopefully by then the weather will be better. I am not quite sure where they fly to from Salt Lake.
Friday we are having the Valentine's party in my class, fun fun fun lol
Mia, if you're reading this, I still cannot post in your blog!!!! but I read it faithfully :)
And now, I am going to take an alka seltzer plus and go to bed, my throat feels a tad scratchy.
Love you all.
