I read Sandy's blog about packing. I am not the world's best packer, I tend to throw things in, then unpack and purge and try again. About 2 weeks ago I packed really well, I was happy, everything fit perfectly, but then I kept adding and emptying everything, etc etc. and now I am back to square one.
It's been a long time (15 years) since I've been to Barcelona, and it'll be quite different from other times, mainly because it will be me and the girls only, and I have no family left in the city, other than a couple of cousins, so we had to rent apartments, and we'll have to eat out all the time. The apartments have full equipped kitchen but I am pretty sure I won't be cooking!
I was going to take a taxi from the airport to the apartment but my niece Sonia insisted on picking us up. We'll be going to Platja D'Aro on Sunday and she says she'll come to pick us up again. My sister Nuri is pretty sick, Sonia told me she's taking heavy medication and is not in a good frame of mind. I feel bad for her, and I hope we will have a good meeting. It'll be nice to be in Platja in an apartment by the beach, I hope it works OK because we had some problems with the rental, since the first one was not available, the second one didn't have enough beds, and finally this 3rd one might be just right!
Tomorrow a home care aide will come to be trained on taking care of M. I hope it works well, also a Kaiser nurse will be visiting a couple of times a week. And of course his brother and sister will come and keep him company :)
Also tomorrow night Lizzie will come over and Saturday we'll pick up Sandy at the airport. On Sunday, if Marv feels OK he will drive us to the airport.
So I still have a ton of things to do, main one is to finish packing. I think I have decided on what to take and most everything will be black and white, so it'll be easy to combine. 2 pairs white pants, 2 pairs black pants, 1 skort, and about 6 tops. 2 walking shoes, 1 "dress" shoes, and a hoodie. All very casual. Maybe I'll take a picture tomorrow and add it to this post.
I'm taking a notebook so I can write about what we do when we are in Barcelona, so I can write about it in this blog when we get back.
I know I will miss Marv and Lulu, but I also know I need to go back to my hometown again. I've missed it as well!
