January Recap

I wanted to write more often in January, but it really didn't happen. There was nothing much going on.

We had Canalones for January 1st (traditional). Lizzie and I went on a Reyes Magos shopping spree, but we didn't really find anything we really wanted, but it was OK. The next day we went to a dentist specialist in root canals, and it was not a bit of fun! I kept on gagging when they tried to take a picture of my bad tooth, it was traumatic for me. The next day L had a panic attack which was scary for both of us.

On the 10th, N came over to take off the Christmas lights, then we went to Pho 45 for soup. That was nice. We also had our oven fixed on the 22nd.

We had some days of rain and wind,  on the 21st I went to have my eyes checked and ordered two pairs of glasses for long distance, one sun glasses and one clear.

The plants and flowers are doing well with all the rain, it looked a lot like Spring. Hummingbirds buzzing.

My 78th Birthday

View from our room at the Windham Hotel in San Diego

Lizzie, Lulu and I drove down to San Diego on Friday, and got to the Windham San Diego Bayside hotel. We had a very nice room with gorgeous views. This is one of two cruise ships right across our hotel.

We had a reservation at Level C Restaurant in Harbor Island. We had been there before in 2018 for Thanksgiving dinner, and it has gorgeous views of San Diego and the bay. This year we also enjoyed a beautiful full moon night.

My birthday dinner was so good! The appetizer was yummy and the entree of fish and chips with hush puppies, was just what I wanted. For dessert the restaurant treated me to a yummy cake .

It was a great beginning of my 78th year!

I also had a nice talk with Sandy, when she called me to wish me a Happy Birthday :)

The next morning we had a very french breakfast downtown San Diego, Lizzie's favorite. Then we walked around for a while. Lulu likes walking in San Diego.

I felt like I was getting a cold. Lizzie had her show at the Star of India that night, and I decided to stay in the hotel instead because it was a bit cold and drizzly that night. But we had a linner right across the hotel to a nice place called Miguel's, and I had a nice sopa de albondigas that warmed me up.

Then we walked to the Star of India, what a beautiful ship!

After the show was over, Lizzie came to the hotel and brought some goodies. Her poem was very well received, and she looked beautiful!
This  picture was taken before she left for the show

It was a great  time in San Diego. Thank you Lizzie!

Till the next time San Diego!
