La sardana es la dansa mes bella

de totes las danses que es fan i es desfan:

es la mobil magnifica anella

que amb pausa i amb mida va lenta oscil.lant.

Ja es decanta a la esquerra i vacil.la

ja volta otra volta a la dreta dubtant,

i s'en torna i retorna intranquil.la,

com, mal orientada, l'agulla d'imant.

Fixa's un punt i es detura com ella.

Del contrapunt arrencant-se novella,

de nou va voltant.

Happy Easter

I don't remember very much about Easter in Spain when I was growing up.  I remember we had new dresses for Easter and a special cake called "Mona de Pascua" We also went to church on Easter Day.

When the girls were young, Easter was fun, dressing them up with cute outfits and bonnets

Then when my grandson was young we did the same, hiding Easter eggs, sometimes in Utah, sometimes in San Diego, sometimes here.

When my sister Mia came to visit, it was usually during Easter, that was fun too.

When I was working, the week before Easter we did a lot of  activities in Kindergarten, hiding eggs, 

having an Easter hat Parade etc.

This will be the first Easter I will be spending by myself

March Recap

I didn't post too much in March. I hope I'll do better in April!

In March we had a lot of rain, very needed.

March 2 -3-   Lizzie came this weekend. We did some paperwork. Went to Zumaya's.
March 4 - Lizzie back to San Diego. Watched the Oscars, meh.
March 6 -  Jacuzzi with Amy and wine
March 8 - Sandy called :)
March 15- Elder Fraud meeting, pse.  I don't like meetings, didn't learn anything new.
March 16- To HB, dinner at Mama's with N.
March 19-  T turns 20!  San Jose
March 20-  To El Cholo with Amy
March 21-  To HB, dinner at Matsu's with N. Work on the Mustang. Total Wine.
March 23-24  Lizzie. Appt with taxes. Lunch at 12/60, and In'n'Out
March 25-   Lizzie organize things in office. Back to SD.
March 26-   Dinner with N to El Torito
March 28-   T home!   Paid off Honda.
March 29-    Donate 15 pairs of glasses to the Lions.

All month I worked getting tax papers and cleaning and organizing .  Doing good progress.
I have been gardening a little too. And walking with Lulu.  Missing Marvin.
Every Monday night  we have a 3 way talk with the girls :)

This and That

Just finished watching the last show of  Queer Eye, mmmmm  firemen!  I had a Queer Eye Marathon this weekend and I enjoyed it a lot!

Lizzie has been here this weekend and helped me with the taxes, we had the tax person come Saturday morning, and we'll see what the damage is grrr.  After that we went to have lunch at 12/60, it was good, then we both -and Lulu too- had a long nap. In the evening we went to Sam's and Best Buy checking laptops/iPads etc. Then we had In'n'Out. Sunday morning we did some organizing, I redeemed a coupon from 1999 that Lizzie gave me for Christmas that year, and it said -Clean the Office- and so she did. Things start looking good.

I've been lazy about writing, I'll do better next month I hope. The weather has been coldish and rainy and I watched a few movies and read, and also was pretty busy cleaning and organizing, getting rid of a lot of stuff etc.

I hope all my readers had a nice weekend too!

February Recap

A whole month by myself (other than the weekend with Lizzie) It's different. I feel a lot less stressed, but a lot more lonely. Thanks Lulu for being such good company.

Feb  1 - Had my diabetes blood test (great results). Installed the HUM in the Mustang
Feb 2-4  - Lizzie came over to spend the weekend. Ate at Agrusa's . Mouse (rat?) in trap backyard.
Feb 6  - Jacuzzi and beer with Amy
Feb 7 -  To the podiatrist.
Feb 8 - Watch Winter Olympics beginning to end. Lulu haircut.
Feb 11- To the park with Lulu
Feb 12- Join the La Mirada Gym.
Feb  14- Lizzie to Taos. Eye checkup for long distance glasses. El Torito with N.
Feb 16 - Chinese New Year. Had chinese food for lunch. Target and Big Lots.
Feb 19 - Today would have been our 53rd Anniversary. 
               N's 62nd BD, I took him to lunch.  His choice: Seafood buffet.
Feb 20 - Jacuzzi with Amy and wine.
Feb 21-  Did some paperwork for N's insurance in the computer. To Sol Inka in LM for dinner.
Feb 22 - Went to get my glasses
Feb 27 - Rain, thunder, lightning and hail. N came over so I could help him get his DNA. Back to                      Sol  Inka.
Feb 28   To Jersey School to read and sing with Jennifer's class. Lunch with her to Veracruz. Talk to                  teachers.

Been texting and talking on the phone with the girls on regular basis. Dewey has called  a couple of times, also Sonia. I have gone by myself to eat lunch at different places.

Sleepless in LM

Last night I stayed up till about past 2AM. Then I took Lulu outside and prepared for bed. I said my own brand of prayers and did a day's recap in my mind and turned around and closed my eyes.

I checked the clock it was 3:53AM. I got up and drank some water, went to the bathroom and washed my face and brushed my teeth again. I called Lulu to come to sleep on my bed. She didn't even opened her eyes, she was fast sleep in her pillow.

4:20AM  I kept on thinking about things I didn't want to think about, so I got up again and turned on the computer.
I did online jigsaw puzzles, played a couple of Games (Gardenscapes I and II), read  a couple of chapters of my book and tried to sleep again.
Lulu decided to come to bed , I turned off the lights.

Check on the clock 5:38AM    Good night!

Woke up at 8:30, fed Lulu and took her outside. Had my chocolate milk and 1 cookie. Checked my blood sugar 109 SUPER!Went back to bed.

Woke up at 12:30!

Took a shower and took all the boxes  from the entrance closet. Started looking thru them and tossing things.  Went to make my lunch, with the last of the roast pork I made tacos, very good!

Went back to the boxes. It's 7:30PM and haven't been outside at all other than to take Lulu out.
I will check to see what I want to have for dinner. Then maybe I'll watch a movie online, nothing much on TV.

I usually sleep very well.

So, I hope I can sleep well tonight. Maybe a little Bailey's before bedtime?

Today I'm bored

Saturday was a long boring day. I woke up around 8:30AM to feed Lulu and take her out, the day was grey and a little chilly, so after we came in I decided to go back to bed. Lulu agreed, and we slept till 11:30.
I had my regular breakfast, a cookie and chocolate milk, then I took Lulu for a little walk around the neighborhood. I put dishes in the dishwasher and washed some clothes at it was almost 2:00PM.  What to do? I didn't feel like looking thru papers and documents, I didn't feel like cleaning the closets, but I thought I needed to have some lunch.
I went to the store  with no list and no plans on what to get; after looking around a little, I bought some shredded chicken, some milk, and a pork butt roast that I will maybe cook tomorrow. I also bought 2 carrots, 1 onion, and 6 yellow chilies. And a jar of dip.
Tried to think of something for lunch, to go or to eat in a restaurant, but nothing sounded good, so I went back home.
I ended up cooking 4 pieces of bacon, 1 fried egg and 5 baby gold potatoes.
Watched some Olympics, checked my email, glanced thru Facebook and did some PSP.
I thought of taking another nap but didn't.  I Im'ed a friend online and we chatted for about 45 minutes. Afterward I did some online jigsaw puzzles, and then I had some chips and dip.
I watched some more Olympics, did a little more PSP and then I watched a movie in the computer. It was a 2018 Netflix movie called  "When We First Met" it was entertaining.
Now is past midnight and I think I will do a couple more puzzles and call it a day.
Sunday I will cook the pork roast.
