A very nice time in June :)

So after a long 15? months, we finally could hug in person on June 11.

My daughter Sandy traveled from Salt Lake City to visit for a few days. Lizzie and I couldn't have been more excited. It was so great to be together after so long!

I will just post some pictures of the places we went while she was here, but we also spend time at home just reading, gardening and relaxing. We all had a great time :)

Home Depot

So far this month has been pretty busy and it has gone fast! June is just around the corner.

This Monday, I asked Norbert to come over to do a couple of things around the house, mainly to put up a mailbox and to empty and clean the Jacuzzi.

As usual, he got sidetracked and wanted to do other stuff as well. We went to Home Depot to get the mailbox and a few other things. Going to Home Depot with N is a nightmare, he has to stop and talk to everybody, stops and checks everything whether we needed it or not, etc. My feet were hurting, it took forever.

Back at home, he put up the mailbox, drained the Jacuzzi, and decided our grass had dry spots, so he wanted to reseed and fertilize both the front and back. I was hungry so first we went out to have a late lunch at Sol Inka a Peruvian Restaurant close by.

Back at home, he didn't like the hoses we had, so he spent a lot of time fiddling around with them, but after the seeding, fertilizing, and doing the Jacuzzi, it was dark and the hoses were not working right. We had a discussion and he left very annoyed. Bye bye.

Next day he called to apologize. OK :)

Then today here he comes again. Back to Home Depot. He had gone in the morning to the dentist to get a crown so he couldn't go to eat. Again we spent a loooooooooooong time looking for stuff he needed to fix the hoses, and the sprinklers, and he also wanted more fertilizer. He basically went by all the aisles and I lost sight of him. One young man that works there asked me if I was looking for something. I said yes, I'm looking for the man I came with, and I don't know where the hell he is! He found it very funny and started laughing and then I saw him telling other guys about it lol.

All's well that ends well. After we got home, he worked at fixing the hoses (he bought a new one), fixing the sprinkler (he bought a new one) and fertilizing the back yard (he bought another sack of fertilizer).

So thanks, my friend, for all your help. But next time, he can go to Home Depot alone :)

(my feet are killing me!)

Saturday afternoon

Saturday afternoon, I went to Frontier Park to enjoy some of the things offered by the "La Mirada for Change Group". My daughter Lizzie was one of the participants.

I spent a very nice time, meeting some of the people in the group. They had a nice set up, but unfortunately, not many people came to take advantage of the offerings.

This was Lizzie's poetry area, she had different pens and papers and poetry books. You could lay down and read or write your own poem etc. Very nice.

The painting area. JoMo had acrylic paints, different sizes of canvas, and brushes.
We could also paint pots.

Planting and potting area. Brandon and Alex  had different sizes of pots,
a tray of succulents and other plants.

A Free area, with popcorn, water, bananas and oranges,
and other snacks. Dante and his boyfriend enjoyed painting.

This is what I did :)

I chose some succulents and planted them.
I also painted the little red pot.

It was a nice cool day.

A haircut

Finally, after many months of letting my hair grow and not doing anything with it, because of the pandemic, I decided it was time for a haircut.

Here are some before and after pictures. I feel better now :)

April Recap

April has been a long month. I've been out around town a little more now that I am vaccinated, but it's the first time in many years that I haven't gone to the beach, just to walk in the sand and the water, or to look at the sunset. I miss that. The beach is my happy place.

April 1 - Norbert came to fix my living room blinds, one broke. I cooked a very nice chile verde pork.

April 3 - Lizzie went to San Clemente to meet her friend.

April 5 - My oven was acting up. I couldn't heat my pot pie. It seems to be more or less OK now.

April 8 - They came to install our new screen door.

April 8 - To podiatry. Then lunch at Panda Inn.

April 14- Went to the succulents garden, bought a few more.

April 15 - Lizzie got her first vaccine (Pfizer)

April 17 - An idiot smashed her car window and stole her bag and shoes. POS.

April 19 - We went to have lunch at El Cholo. First time in a long while.

April 30 - Hottest day of the year so far.

I had my phone talks with Sandy and out once a month Face to Face. Did some Spring cleaning, mainly clothes.
