My day so far, and a disclaimer

 This morning I woke up at 9AM. Got up and stepped on Lulu, she was sleeping right by my bed, I started to get dressed, but stepped on a wet spot...and there was  a little farther on the rug. My fault! she's used to go outside to do her business earlier.  After cleaning I took her outside, then fixed her and my breakfast. 

I decided I would start cooking for the week. I ground my last piece of carnitas and added some chicken, to make croquetas. Before  that I decided to make a coca de llardons (chicharrones) typical of Lent in Catalunya. I had fun doing it and it looked good and tasted good. 

with the other half of the puff pastry, I decided to make "orelletes" or palmiers. I made some last week and they turned out nice. Not this time. They sort of burned! :(

On to making croquetas... halfway  I changed my mind and thought I'd make canalones instead, it's basically the same. I saute onion and added the ground meat, the flour, and the milk. I had 2 cartons of milk, one less than half dated December 25, the other full, had never been opened, dated January 2026. I tasted the old one, and it was fine, so I used the rest of it. Then I cooked the canalones (just 8, 4 for today and 4 for tomorrow), put them in a clean towel, and filled them. Now, to make the white sauce, I melted the butter, added the flour, opened the new milk, and poured out a cup. IT WAS SOUR!!! So much work for nothing lol

No dinner tonight, very annoying! I called Lulu to go outside, no Lulu around. I went room by room calling her, no Lulu. Finally, I found her under/behind the desk in my room, all the way down, hard to see lol

I will have some jamon y queso and potato chips for now. Tomorrow maybe I'll try making the goulash, or the  chicken tortilla soup. Or both.

I think most people have no common sense. They need to think before they act.
