AUGUST RECAP

August 4 - Woke up with a red face!

August 5 - Went to the Dentist Dr No. Prescribed antibiotics Moxycillin

August 5-8 - Lizzie to Lone Pine to meet Sandy and Marty.

August 8- Sandy and LIzzie back to LM. My face is still red.

August0-11 - Chilling. Made macaroni and meatballs.

August 12- Podiatry. Dr. Chopra. pain on left toe. Amor y Tacos.

August 13 -Phone conference with DR Noda. Heart results are good.

JULY Recap

July was all about the World Cup

July 3 -Watched the fireworks from Biola. Thanks Lizzie.

July 4 - Happy 250th Birthday USA

July 6 - Appointment with my Estate planner

July 12 - L met with Lindsay in San Clemente.

July 13 - L hurt her foot playing tennis.

July 19 - SPAIN won the World Cup over sore losers, Argentina.

July 20 - Mi Burrito Grill in Whittier

July 22 - Sandy came to visit

July 23 - Started "Lulu's Garden"

July 25 - Girls drove up to Dixon

July 27 - Burial service for Mary and Dewey

July 28 - Dinner at Mamma Mia.

July 29 - Sandy went back to Utah.

July 31 - L went to San Diego

July was a very hot month. I did some gardening wearing my gardening outfit (bugs are relentless) Stayed home happily watching lots of World Cup games, in my A/C house.

Jag tillbringade tre dagar i Sverige.

My first impression of Sweden, it's very nice and green

Lizzie wrote 2 great posts about Sweden and our trip with SAS. So I'll just be adding some pictures. Mia lives in the town of Uppland Vasby, in a very nice and spacious apartment, with lovely views of the forest.

This is a picture of the living room very nice and open, with large windows. I slept on one of the sofas with a nice warm down blanket (to the right)

The next day, June 1st, we had a lovely breakfast in her cheery dining area. Then we drove around, met her younger son Emil, bought luscious strawberries, and had a delicious lunch of authentic Swedish meatballs! (Mia makes the best ones!!!)

We had lots of thigs to talk about and it was a nice time. Later we went to Stockholm to meet the rest of the family, at a great Hasselbacken Hotel/Restaurant. We met Helen, Mia's sister, and her husband, and their well-behaved dog), Danniel Mia's oldest son, and Jona and her son Eddie, and of course Emil, Mia, Lizzie and me.

That was a fun day with great food and great people. It was so nice to meet Mia's family

The next day, we drove to Stockholm to go on a archipelago cruise

On the drive back to Vasby, we stopped at Roserberg Palace, where Mia used to work, unfortunately it was closed. We also drove around where Hasse used to work.

By the time we got back, we were pretty tired, so we stopped at a bakery to get some fika goodies. Fun fact: In the Swedish summer the sun stays up for a long time, There's never really nightime.

In the morning, we had another nice breakfast, Lizzie packed my bag, and hers, and we got ready to go to Arlanda, to take the plane to Barcelona

Backyard before we left on a trip to Europe

May 30 - Flying from LAX to Copenhagen. Big passport mix up, when I got the wrong passport and was told it had expired! Lizzie and I did the impossible, going back to La Mirada, after getting a bus and a Lyft, and hurrying back to LAX with a few minutes to spare!!! Thanks to my angels, a super nice Lyft driver and a super organized Lizzie. Flying Business class SAS.
