We went to Urgent Care today to have Marvin's leg checked. He's been having lots of pain in the upper left thigh that causes much trouble walking.
The doctor was a very young Indian woman, and asked him where it hurt and she said that's the groin area and you seem to have pulled a ligament. She asked about the pain from 1 to 10, 10 being highest, and he said 8-9, so she prescribed a pain pill and said to keep his leg elevated and rest.
In the afternoon I went to my dentist to see about my dry mouth, and difficulty swallowing. He said usually some prescription pills would cause dry mouth, even though I have not been taking any new ones lately. Anyway he gave me some mouthwash and toothpaste and jelly to put in my tongue. And lo and behold is a lot better already! :)
A couple of weeks ago we had the gardener pull out out old lavender bushes by the driveway because they were getting too old and woody. Then I bought some more lavender plants and had them plant them. Well they are all dying :( Even though I watered them they are turning yellow and drying up (I may need Hasse's green thumb!). I'm upset because I always have had good luck with lavender. Now I don't know what to plant instead!
Our tomatoes are not doing great this year, but we pick one or two every day, enough for a salad. The peppers are doing a lot better.
The house seems pretty empty without Tristan. We miss him, and so does Lulu. I think he had fun while he stayed here, especially longboarding at the beach :)

What's new
Tristan came to visit for a few days. Marvin and I went to pick him up on Wednesday. It seems like he grows a few more inches everytime I see him!
On Thursday, we went to the library and the store, and to the La Mirada pool. We just went to look at it because he said he didn't want to go swimming by himself, but we had a nice time. I made spaghetti at night.
Friday, we went to Huntington Beach, met Norbert and left Tristan in the bike path to do some longboarding, we met him at the pier and we all went to Ruby's for lunch. After that Norbert and I went to the Farmer's Market, I also got a US Open of surfing Tshirt for Tristan. Of course he went longboarding some more, he really went around a lot, from the Newport Beach border to the pier and back. We met him halfway there on the way back. We kept in touch by phone. He seemed to enjoy the ride, and the weather was great. :)
In the bad side, Marvin has been having some bad days lately. His left thigh has been hurting quite a bit and it makes it hard for him to walk. He's also been taking pain pills for it. He also has a stomach ache and is not feeling very perky at all. I wanted to take him to Urgent Care but he said to wait till Tristan leave, but if he's not better by Sunday I will take him on Monday.
And I have some form of dysphagia, which is having difficulty swallowing. It started after my last dental work and I wonder if it's related. Is very annoying because I am having trouble taking my pills, and I've just been eating soft stuff that is easier to swallow. I'll probably have it checked if it doesn't get better.
Tomorrow I'll take Marvin to dialysis and then Tristan wants to go to Barnes and Noble. He also told me his friend Ruben is coming to California tomorrow and they would like to meet Monday in Long Beach. We'll see. He's staying by Anaheim wit his uncle.
Sunday we were going to Best Buy and then to eat to Panda Inn, but it will depend on how Marvin feels. I told Tristan if he's not up to it, I will go with him to Best Buy and we can go to Panda Inn and get it to go. It depends.
Tristan has been good company and a good helper, he and Lulu wrestle a lot and Lulu is hiding under my chair half the time lol, she's not used to rough play!
We really enjoy having Tristan here :)

Happy 4th of July
Today has been an OK day, although it was a little frustrating at times.
After I took Marvin to dialysis I was planning to have lunch to El Maguey, but it was closed! Then I tried another place, it was close also, so i drove to Puffy Taco, closed as well! so I drove to the Whittier Mal and went to Chipotle, and you guessed! it was closed. So I ended up at The Habit, had a nice cheese burger, fries and chocolate milkshake :)
When i got home I took Lulu for a walk around the neighborhood, she walks fast and I have to keep up with her, then we got home and rested.
Marvin was a little late getting out of dialysis (they had a change of crew and they were slow). We got home and I started cooking, au gratin potatoes and pork loin roast. When I thought the roast was done, well it wasn't. So I sliced it and grilled them in the handy grill the girls gave us. It was good. In the morning I had gone to Le Parisien and got some pastries, a couple of them were good and we enjoyed them, the last 2 were totally tasteles, grrrr.
At night I took Lulu for a little walk, she seemed to enjoy the fireworks in the neighborhood, but jumped when they went BOOM!!! I talked to my next door neighbors, Amy is expecting a baby girl in September (Sophia), her son Matthew is adorable. They were having fireworks going so Marvin also came out and we watched for a while.
Later I went to the Jacuzzi and enjoyed the back neighbors fireworks, they always have a good show! And it was nice and relaxing.
Oh I watched 2 movies, I enjoyed the first one a lot, it's a 2005 movie called Junebug, with Amy Adams. It had great reviews and I really liked it. The other one was the 2011 film "The Art of Getting By", I liked it too, it's a high school type picture. It stars Emma Roberts and Freddie Highmore (he was Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Bored
Today has been a very boring day.
I am trying to clean my closet again, and been "organizing" putting away some stuff for Goodwill, etc. It got old pretty soon so I went to the computer and checked mail etc.
I didn't go anywhere today. I had a salad for lunch, and breakfast steak and rice for dinner. It was not very satisfying, I am craving something but I cannot put my finger (or mouth) on it.
Marvin has been watching TV, eating, and taking naps. We all sat outside for a while to feast our eyes on the beautiful cactus flowers. Lulu has been very well behaved today, but she's scared of the fireworks noise.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. Is Thursday so Marvin has dialysis. I may take Lulu for a walk and then I will be cooking a pork loin for dinner. I may go to the Jacuzzi at night and watch the fireworks from behind our house.
