SEPTEMBER RECAP

 

September mantel, with things from Hungary, Austria, Netherlands, Czech

The main thing that happened in September, was my daughter's Danube River Trip, with stops in Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Krems,  Linz, Passau, Salzburg, Prague, and  Netherlands, from September 6 to 20.

The month started by going to 12 Sixty for dinner, going food shopping, and getting things ready for the trip.  9/4 Lizzie left to SLC and 9/5 they left to Budapest.  That left Lulu and me "home alone" :)

I spent those days cooking for myself, gardening, reading, watching movies, and just staying home. I went to the Farmer's Market for pastries. Lulu did the same as I did, but for reading :)

September 9, Charlie Kirk was killed during a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT. Very sad.

September 16, Nick came to help me with the hose in the front yard. Thanks neighbor. 

September 21, Lizzie came home. 👍💓

September 24, we went looking for a computer at Best Buy

September 25, Lizzie went to LM Theater. I talked to Sandy.

September 26 we went to San Diego at the Old Town Inn, had dinner at Miguel's and went to Lindsay's show, very nice. Jeff was there too.

September 29, we went to Old World Village in Huntington Beach and had a lovely lunch.

AUGUST RECAP

 

August 3 - Carlos the gardener and a friend, came by to inspect the patio.

August 4 - Went to the dentist to get my crown.

August 6 - Went to the podiatrist. To The Source, and to Porto's

August 7 -Had a cut and color hair appt. Sonia called that Nuri broke her arm, diving.

August 8 -Started ELIQUIS

August 12- Tristan to PT & Hospital needs surgery for bulging disc,

August 13- Surgery for T went well for the herniated disc :) - The Habit.

August 14- T went back home, mostly free of pain.

August 15- Sandy & Marty's  32 Anniversary. Marty still walking the Colorado Trail. Dame Mas.

August 20- With L to Long Beach, Fish'n'Chips LBBC, Sunset Beach. Katella Deli.

August 20-30 - Miscellaneous L stuff: Romeo&Juliet in Whittier, Kaiser, dentist, hair salon.

August 23-Marty back home after 39 days and 483 miles in the Colorado Trail, Denver to Durango.

August 31- Talk to Nuri, Monica, Irina face to face. Talk to Sandy F to F

JULY RECAP

 

AND JUST LIKE THAT...ANOTHER MONTH PASSED...

My July-August mantel

A sad thing happened in July 17. T had a fall and hurt his leg/thigh, had a lot of pain and a couple of visits to the ER. He seems to be doing a little better now, but because of it, Sandy's visit to LM had to be postponed :(

Marty started his Colorado trail hike July 13.

Lizzie and I went to see the 4th of July fireworks by the Chase bank

                                                             

                                     I ordered my Saatva topper. I hope it helps me sleep better.

July 16 went to the dentist to get a crown

July 18, went with Lizzie to the Fullerton Arboretum

Went to the the Bank to get some euros and forints etc. for  S&L trip

We went to eat...Dame Mas, El Torito Grill, etc.

I couldn't eat too much because of the crown work, lots of soft food at home.

JUNE RECAP

 

My June mantel

The month of June was pretty blah for me. I didn't do much of anything for fun, just talking to "termite" people, and what to do about it. 4 different companies and 4 different  prices, ideas, etc.  I also spent a lot of time worrying about whether or not to take my blood thinner pills (I will start in July).  ::sigh::

Lizzie went to San Diego the last of May and came back June 3. I spent time cooking for myself (pastel de atun) and that's about it. She went back to San Diego, and other places June 26-28. She stayed with her friend and went to Ramona for a poetry reading.  Again, I spent some time cooking for myself (corn chowder and salmorejo) 

                       With Lizzie, we went to La Huasteca and to La casa del cocinero.

We had takeout from Reventaco, Panera, Cane's and Mike's.  June 26 my friend Jennifer came by and we went again to La casa del cocinero, and we  got back home and talked for a long time. June 23rd was la verbena de San Juan and I made some Catalan dessert and had a bottle of Blanc de Blanc.

MAY Recap-

The 2 top things that happened in May were:

Sandy and Tristan came May 14 -19  

I had a conference with my doctor on May 15 about test results,  I have been very worried and anxious for over a month. We were all pleased with the results.

May 11 was Mother's Day. Lizzie took me to lunch at Amor y Tacos,  and gave me a cute book and a crocheted succulent pot :)  Sandy called and made me a very nice card, and she and Tristan came to visit!

May 7 I went to Dr Chopra

May 14, to the Airport to pick up the family , It had been a while since I last saw my grandson, he's tall! 

May 15  We went to Dame Mas  and waited for the doctor's call

May 16, Griffith Observatory, drive around LA,  Ghost Tour at night.

May 17, Gray, coolish day. Everybody napped. Went to Long Beach's Belmont Brewing Co.

May 18, To see the Padres baseball ( I didn't go)

May  19, To the airport.

May 24, Marty's Happy 64th Birthday

May 29, Lulu had a spa day.

May 30, Lizzie went for a long weekend to San Diego
